We all know that old saying “when life gives you lemons, make lemonade” right?!
Earlier this summer I had been trying to figure out something fun and creative to do with my baby girl. I knew I wanted it to be something that would allow her to make her own money and also be an introduction to entrepreneurship.
We had been looking up different ideas on YouTube and Pinterest and still couldn’t come up with anything. Then it hit me! An old fashioned lemonade stand … duh!!!
This was so easy and so much fun to create! Only a few tools, a couple of wooden pieces, and some paint to put it all together!
4 unfinished crates ( 12.50×18.00×9.50 inches xH)
1 strip board ( 1in.x 3in. X 8ft.) purchased at Home Depot and had it cut in half
Nails & hammer
Pink spray paint
Acrylic paint (various colors from Walmart )
Foam poster board (Dollar tree)
Cut out paper letters (Dollar Tree)
Nail the crates together
Once you have hammered the nails in, be sure to bend them using the hammer. This will prevent them from sticking out and causing any cuts.
After you’ve done that, add the wooden strip that we previously had cut into two at our local Home Depot. This can be done with a hammer and nails or a hot glue gun.
We used Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch spray paint in the shade Candy Pink on the wooden crates, but of course you can use whatever color you choose.
From there we painted the two wooden strips that were used to hold up our sign. I used acrylic paint I purchased at Walmart in a lavender shade.
While the paint dried I made the poster board sign and the lemonade flag banner. It was super easy! When it comes making the sign get creative. I added my daughters name to make it a bit more original!
Walla!! It’s done! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 hallelujah
She and I had so much fun making it and she’s having even more fun profiting from all the lemonade and cookies she’s been selling!
It took two coats of the pink spray paint. Also be sure to paint the inside of the crates & front and back.
